Pelvic Organ Prolapse

Hey ladies, I’m here to talk to you today about what’s called pelvic organ prolapse or commonly known as P O P. Pelvic organ prolapse is when any or multiple pelvic organs descend through his own canal or bulges into another organ. There are eight different types of P O P that include a bladder prolapse or rethrow, prolapse, uterine prolapse, cervical prolapse, rectal prolapse and even small intestinal prolapse. So it’s when any of those inner organs again collapse on itself or pushes into another organ, including your uterus or your Venerables. 50% of women will experience some sort of pelvic organ prolapse after childbirth. It’s a huge, huge number, and we want to work in to decrease that number or at least help that 50% get rid of their pelvic organ prolapse. As soon as possible. Every woman is going to be different based upon their birth history and birth experience. Multiple births affect what’s going on inside the body, as well as C sections or episiotomy. And just multiple births in general. There’s also what’s called relaxin, which is a hormone that our bodies produce when we’re having kids. And then you continue to produce while you’re breastfeeding, that helps keep all the connective tissues loose. So when you’re running around, and you feel that kind of slosh you around, that’s a lack of connectivity, which can be caused by relaxing relaxing can say a woman system for up to six months after she’s done breastfeeding. So POP can affect you for a long period of time. And it can still work to fix that for that long period of time as well. Symptoms of POP can include pressure or pain in the pelvic area, constant bladder or UTI infections, as well as urinary incontinence, its urges to go or pee when you have any increase in inner abdominal pressure like running, jumping, coughing, laughing, sneezing, as well as constipation.
