Do You Know Your Blindspots as a Trainer?

Whether we want to admit it or not, we all have blindspots. It’s inevitable because we can’t possibly know everything about everything. As people and as coaches we are on a continuous learning journey. The day you stop learning is the day you stop caring about your clients.

This is why it’s important that we come to terms with our blindspots and identify them so that we can continue to be better for ourselves and for the people we’re trying to leave a lasting impact on.

Turning your passion into your career is f***ing HARD WORK. You’re going to have highs and lows. You’re going to struggle and want to give up sometimes, but don’t let your lack of knowledge about marketing or your inability to keep consistent clients or your dwindling bandwidth get the best of you!

Turning your passion into profits is overwhelming, we know. It’s a lot to take in, especially in such a competitive industry where it can be hard to stand out. As I was saying, the fitness industry, there are so many marketing agencies using slimy ads to promise that they can help you get 500 clients in 1 month. We call B.S. Or at least BS on them being qualified leads and likely to turn into clients. BECAUSE even if they are sending you a legitimate 50 leads, how much time are you spending trying to track them down and follow up after being ghosted? It’s not just time consuming, it’s a punch to the ego and in the wake of COVID, that’s the LAST thing you need. As much as we want to sign up for the quick fix or magic pill in the middle of a crisis, the time and money you end up spending trying to make it work for you ends up being more expensive and time consuming than just setting yourself up for long-term success by teaching you the actual skills you need to grow your business with quality over quantity. So don’t waste your money and fall for the “shiny new social media lead generation strategy”.

There’s the saying “It takes a village…” and it is SO TRUE. You DON’T HAVE TO DO IT ALONE. You’re bound to have those days where you just don’t feel motivated or you’re feeling stuck or you just want to say fuck it because you’re so frustrated about not seeing results.

But remember, we’re here to help get you back on track by revealing your blindspots whether it’s generating revenue, learning basic business skills like financing and sales, or embracing a new way of thinking so that you can start taking steps in the right direction again which is towards your dreams!

So let’s start with these baby steps:

  1. Take a deep breath
  2. Tell yourself that you CAN do this
