We’re gonna go over the foam roller, what its main uses on how it can benefit our bodies in preparation for working out, or helping us with a cooldown. Or even in an injury prevention standpoint, if we do have muscle tightness that needs to be addressed, the foam roller is designed to apply the compression forces to the body. And if I put my muscle on the pressure of my weight of my body with gravity, and even my opinion, external force will help basically move the tissue around and therefore, a lit enable fluids, water, mostly blood to cycle through the muscle and allow it to heal itself. Since muscle is mostly comprised of water molecules, and water cannot be compressed, since I can push on the water that will move through the tissue and move out of the way. Just like a sponge. When I pushed onto a sponge, water goes away from it. And when I release water sucks back into it. Basically what we’re doing with our muscle tissue whenever you feel a part of your muscle that’s tight, or feels very, very sore to the touch or sensitive. That’s muscle tissue that is not hydrated. So as you go over it slowly, very slowly, just as you run through a pool of water, it’s the faster you run, the harder it is. If you walk through a pool of water, it’s much easier we want to move slowly through this water back and forth. On that point. Now there’s rolling that you can do. There’s also sliding of the leg that you can do. There’s also rolling of the body part that we can do. So we’ll cover how to do that with each muscle segment all the way through as we go through this sequence.
